They had just returned from their well deserved holiday at the beach, their dark skins still smelled of salt, sand and wind. They laughed as they tumbled into the apartment, dropping the basket, its content of blankets, towels, half empty bottle of wine, and the clatter of cutleries against the rest occupants of the basket.
Her thoughts waltzed about the exciting day. The races they had; her wet skirt clinging to her long lovely thighs as she pursued her lover over sand on bare feet. He tore into the winds as he ran towards their set goal of the artificial embankment. She caught up with him, winded and jubilant, hair whirling about her face, glowing from the exertion. Holding each other’s waist they walked back to their spot, not after trying to baptize each other in the roaring sea- clothes which had now clung and stamped themselves to their curves and angles. She jangled the colorful shells she had accumulated in the discarded ice cream tub she picked up.
Seated against each other, she to his firm chest, and his long powerful legs entangled hers with her bright sea green nail paint on neatly cut toenails. They fed each other actually; he did, that is considering the fact he painted her with chicken sauce. Well, that was a laugh. When she fed him cake- fairy cake with cream which she held close to his nose, he had a nice clown nose of pale pink cream along with colors of sprinkles stuck to it. They shared a drink, the sparkling white wine in the yellow plastic cups- watching others who came to enjoy the sea, the sand, sun, and the delicious wares of the beach vendors.
Young boys and girls did wonderful cartwheels and flips as they caught the waves advancing forward. Grandmothers held little babies and dipped their tiny feet into pockets of water left by the redrawing sea. Beautiful well endowed females showed off their glorious bodies. Firm boobs, or wiggly ones; flat abs or round pouring ones, maybe smooth carved hips and bottoms or cooking pot large ones – all were encased in bikinis, bathing suits in rainbow and butterfly colors.
The old and the gray walked gently and leisurely by the shoreline – Gramps and Grandma in their securely tied gele. The wind went mad when it would not come off. Others- little chubby and skinny children- raced to the water edge, while mothers screamed and threatened with punishment of sorts, while others lay in the sun on towels and wrappers as they rested from the excitement or decided to digest the heavy lunches of eba, tuwo, amala and egusi soup, fiery red stews blocked by meat and fish pieces the size of a newborn’s head. All these they viewed through dark large sunglasses- they laughed and giggled while they took nice selfies of themselves: She, he and new friends created.
She pointed at the jewelry peddler and purchased a long large cream necklace and an arm load of bracelets for him. He got her bright colored cotton candies and dripping yummy creamy ice creams. They hired a beautiful reddish brown stallion. He held her as she sat in front of him, and they guided themselves through the press of beach partakers. The movement of the horse was a lullaby to her as she leaned into him with a smile of content and total love.
The horse gone, they held hands and watched the sky begin a magnificent dress change; the orange red sun washed all in her weak rays as she sank gracefully into the sea’s embrace. The wind grew stronger, the tides rose and they watched a ship in the horizon sail goodbye to them. The birds replied too as they dipped and skated across the water surface. He held the basket and her, she hugged the blue-yellow shawl on her shoulders and let her precious one lead her home
He tucked her into the nice cozy small bed they shared, he slid beside her and held her close; letting the relaxing warm bath take over them.
I had a nice time, a beautiful time with you. He kissed her goodnight. I love you- she returned the thought. I love you too- he responded with a squeeze. Off they went to heaven.
